*Tiko Council wins big*
Tiko council aka the gateway city was yesterday Thursday March 30,2023 awarded a brand Yamaha Bike by GIZ for it’s citizen consultation.This was after a three day training session and sharing of experience for councils in Fako Division on citizen consultation process and budgeting tools that ended last March 30, 2023 at Mountain hotel in Buea.
The training that was organised by the ministry of Decentralization and local Development in collaboration with GIZ, brought together Mayor’s, Secretary Generals and Civil Society Organisation leaders with the presence of some Divisional Delegates of Decentralization and local Development SW.
Tiko council headed by the Shepherd, HRH Peter Ikome Mesoso III aka System man and it’s secretary General had the opportunities to shared their experiences with the other councils.
During the last day of the session, a video conference by one of the Directors from the ministry of Decentralization, addressed the worries local Authorities (Mayor’s) faced in their day to day activities.
It later paved the way for the signing of conventions with some five councils (Tiko inclusive).
The three days gathering in Buea ended with the award of Yamaha Bikes to five councils (Tiko, Idenau, Limbe 1,2 and 3) by GIZ which will go a long way to ease their citizen consultation.

Tiko Council is one of the five councils of Fako Division in the South West Region of Cameroon. The council was created in 1974 as a rural council and in 2004 it was transformed into a Municipal council by virtue of Law No. 018/2004 of 22nd July 2004.
